Samsung Infuse 4G

Just how large can a smartphone’s display finally get until it becomes a tablet? AT&T and Samsung are once again pushing the limit with the Samsung Infuse 4G, a smartphone running on AT&T’s HSPA+ Network with a 4.5-inch display. This currently places the Infuse 4G at the number one spot of largest displays among all other smartphones! (Unless of course you count the Dell Streak, but that’s more of a tablet anyway.)

The Infuse 4G flaunts the company’s Super AMOLED Plus technology, the next generation of Super AMOLED, an ultra-thin display which produces vibrant colors and excellent visibility indoors and out. It has 50 percent more subpixels for better clarity overall readability indoors and especially outdoors, according to Samsung. (Being a huge fan of Super AMOLED, this part gets me rather excited!)

The Infuse 4G is said to be powered by (the older) Android 2.2 and runs on a 1.2GHz processor. Other noteworthy specifications include an 8-megapixel camera with HD Video recording (720p), as well as a front facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls. Overall this phone looks rather enticing and I, myself, cannot wait to get my hands on one when they’re released.

Currently pricing and availability has still not been announced officially by AT&T, but we will be sure to update this post once more information has been given. (For those that want to read into speculation, there is a rumor that it will be released April 30th based on hearsay from a supposed AT&T employee.)

It’s been a busy couple of days here for the Gizmo Hub Team as we’ve been browsing through various new potential “looks” for our main website to best suit the needs of our community. We strongly appreciate your patience through the last couple of weeks as we’ve been essentially rebuilding from the ground up. At the moment, we’re fairly happy with what we’ve done thus far, but we still have plans to do a little more customizing, so bear with us! As always we look forward to your feedback as well as ideas on what you’d like to see improved upon. Well, that’s it for this update, but we hope to bring more good news as soon as possible!
